Run towards a better, alcohol-free life

Run Naked is a supportive community that empowers people to live alcohol-free and enjoy the mental and physical benefits of running.

Is alcohol running your life?

Do you…

  • Find yourself overthinking every drink? Constantly weighing the decision to have "just one more" despite knowing it's not a great idea.

  • Wake up feeling foggy and unmotivated? As an ambitious, hard-working person juggling many responsibilities, the brutal after-effects of drinking can leave you completely derailed for days.

  • Let down loved ones with your flakiness? You desperately want to be the reliable friend, parent or family member that people can count on. But hangovers and uncertainty around your drinking ruin your ability to commit and show up.

If any of these struggles resonate, you're not alone. Prioritising alcohol-free living frees you from the draining, self-critical cycles. It empowers you to live with more clarity, energy and authentic presence for the people and activities you truly care about most.

What if you ran your life instead?

Already an Alcohol Free Runner?

Why Run Naked?

Run Naked was created by Adam and Jenny, two friends who discovered a shared passion for running after giving up alcohol.

And no, despite the cheeky name, they are not actual nudists!

After one too many nights of hangovers and regrettable decisions fueled by alcohol, Adam and Jenny decided to get serious about their health. They swapped the booze for running shoes - and discovered the energy, clarity, and natural highs that running brings.

Both Adam and Jenny have been shocked by the dramatic effect that giving up alcohol and embracing running has had on their lives.

They have set up Run Naked to help empower people to make a bold decision to change their life or find their people in our alcohol free community of runners.

Meet Jenny

In 2019, after an innocent BBQ turned wild with countless bottles of wine consumed, I woke up with the hangover to end all hangovers. I was in a complete panic - not knowing where my two young kids were or if I had got them to bed. The “Hangxiety” was the absolute worst and physically, I felt horrendous. Sick and exhausted.

Luckily the kids were safe and in my drunken stupor I had put them to bed. But the ‘what ifs’ kept running around my head.

I made the decision to give up drinking for a year.

Within three months I was convinced that I was never going to drink again. The noise that drinking had created in my mind was gone. I felt free.

Like my mind was “naked”.

With the newfound energy I experienced straight away, I started running again and I started running consistently. Consistency in anything had been impossible for me as a drinker so I was pretty surprised!

Fast forward five years, after many, many kms and zero beers - I now represent Australia in the 24 Hour Track.

Meet Adam

I was what you’d call a “social drinker”. But the problem was, there wasn’t anything really social about it. I would always end up the drunkest person at the party, downing beers just to feel like I could converse easily. Sometimes, I'd even impose deep and meaningful conversations onto unwilling ears.

I realised I was using alcohol as a crutch to navigate social situations and ease my anxiety.

After two decades of this on repeat, it reached a stage where it was bleedingly obvious that my destructive and toxic binge drinking behaviour was going to result in me losing all that I’d worked so hard for: My marriage, my family and my business.

This realisation that turned into me making the best decision of my life—I gave up alcohol for a year. That was four years ago.

Today, I am an AURA endorsed run coach (Australian Ultra Running Association), and a keen ultra runner who is over 50kg lighter, and infinitely more clear headed than a decade ago.

Find a new path through running

If you hear “alchohol free program” and immediately think stale community hall with a sad circle of chairs, we hear you. That’s not us either.

At Run Naked, we keep things relaxed, real, and focused on the future. No judgements or shame about the past. Just supporting each other in living alcohol-free through our shared love of the runner's high!

Lots of other places promote "just drinking a little!" But we found total freedom when we kicked alcohol to the curb completely rather than trying to navigate "moderation." That constant mental tug-of-war is draining!

We want to empower our members to live 100% alcohol-free, and find fun ways to channel the new found energy it brings - in our case running.

Running gives that sweet rush of endorphins and dopamine without the hangover. It carves out time for self-reflection, grounds anxiety, and builds confidence stride by stride.

This unique combo completely transformed us. Now we've created this judgement-free community to empower others to discover the same clarity, energy, and sense of possibility.
